Some writings

The documents referenced below may be of historical interest. They were written in the 1990s and helped to shape the direction of the accessible publishing and reading movement.

• This ITD Journal, special edition was written in 2004 and outlines the DAISY Consortium's approach to access to information.

• The CSUN Conference paper: The DAISY Consortium was written in 1998 and describes how the DAISY Consortium was originally formed and structured.

• At the IFLA conference held in Amsterdam in 1997, "Structured Text, the Key to Information Now and in the Future"was presented. The DAISY Consortium and our Friends staffed a huge booth that demonstrated the many DAISY players that were available at that time. This was a wonderful demonstration of collaboration.

• The "The Oracle of Zimbabwe" written 1997 is an essay which should be taken as a metaphor. The situation described shows how access to information can change peoples position in society.

• "A Forecast of Information Technology" was presented in Hong Kong in 1996. I think you will find the predictions to be very interesting!

Medical problem caused by loss of vision

This medical Case Study Is about a serious condition caused by my posture while walking. A small patch of residual sight caused me to hold my head in an awkward position. Over several decades, this triggered a serious muscle reaction. I thought that documenting what happened may help somebody with a similar problem.
